GAMEGUESSR
Four screenshot-based modes: identify games, remember release dates, find developer locations, or enter the shared twice-weekly Challenge.
GUESS THE GAME
You start with a random fragment of one screenshot. Pick the correct game from ten visually similar options. If you are unsure, reveal more screenshots — every extra one slightly lowers the maximum score. You can also reveal every available screenshot in full at once for a fixed 1,000-point penalty.
WHERE WAS IT MADE?
Use five full screenshots to work out where the game was developed, then place your marker on the map. If the lead studio city is known, your distance is measured to that city; otherwise landing anywhere inside the correct country is perfect. The closer you are, the more of the 8,000 location points you earn. Correctly identifying the game from five options adds another 2,000 points.
WHEN DID IT RELEASE?
You get five full screenshots from one game. Mark the year and month of its original release on the timeline — the closer your date, the more of the 8,000 timeline points you earn. Small errors of a few months are punished gently, while larger misses cost progressively more. Correctly identifying the game from five options adds another 2,000 points.
CHALLENGE
Twice a week everyone gets the same 20 games. Ten lives, one signed-in attempt and one shared ranking.
CHALLENGE
A synchronized GameGuessr run: the set changes every Monday and Thursday, and every player gets exactly the same games, order, screenshots, crops and answer options.
—
60 seconds per game. The first 5 seconds keep 100% of the score, then the time multiplier falls smoothly to zero.
Everyone plays the same set, so results can be compared fairly with other players on the leaderboard.
Only signed-in GameBuro profiles can play. Each profile gets one attempt per challenge.
GUESS THE GAME
The first wrong game costs 1,000 points; later mistakes follow the curve. Each extra screenshot costs 100; revealing all in full costs 1,000.
